What can I say except that this was the best vacation of my life! My husband and I had the time of our lives. From start to finish everything was perfect in every way! We were greeted with song and dance and the warmest people you will ever have the pleasure of meeting. They were not only kind to us but as we could clearly see they were kind to each other. They are genuinely sweet people who welcome you with arms wide open and by the time you leave they have become family. In all of Africa there is no place like the Okavango Delta. The beauty here is matchless in every way. Sunsets, painted in colors my eyes have never seen. Animal encounters, raw and wild. This is one of the few places left in the world that is pristine and untouched by the outside world. There really are no words that I can say to do it justice. The accommodations were over the top, twelve foot tented ceilings, world class decor, your own personal plunge pool, a stocked mini bar with all of your favorite things. Luxurious bed linens and towels, along with very bougee body wash, shampoo, conditioner and bath salts. Excellent hot water and water pressure. Another surprise, was the “Air Conditioner” - a “Rare Find” in the Okavango Delta. Which was a wonderful welcome after a warm day on safari. It kept our room cool and crisp. The food was was a culinary journey, each dish a work of art, yet clean and healthy. Everything was so fresh and bountiful! How is it that I am in one of the most isolated places on earth and eating like this? I really just don’t know how they do it. We were honored that the chef made us the most delicious mini cake to celebrate our anniversary. Safari’s were beyond what we could expect. Our guide Chester was seasoned, experienced and in touch with the land and animals that inhabit it. He told us many interesting stories and we learned much from him. I so appreciate him allowing us to take our time and enjoy each sighting and never rushing the experience. We lingered at many sightings and were and take it all in. Each day was an adventure and we were always excited to see what the day would bring. I also loved the hippo sundowner. The vehicles were high end and made for very comfortable game drives. I appreciate the console between seats for personal storage, water bottles prepared for us with our names on them and no more than six people per vehicle. Three nights was amazing, but next time I would love to do five nights and stay a bit longer. This is a vacation that will stay with me long after I have unpacked.
